Phnom Penh
I arrived in Phnom to be greeted to a dazzling city that is made up of Golden Palaces and Silver Pagodas. An amazing city...the jewel of SE asia. For a city that only 35 odd years ago saw so much blood and tragedy, this is an emerging place full of life. The pics speak for themselves. As usual in this country , the people are the real jewel and really make this a must stop. This city is now a part of me and I will return 3 to 4 times year. Maybe one day to live............................
With Sophear as our guide we discovered the most amazing little local bars and cafes around the place. Sitting on a hot afternoon and drinking really good 30c beers watching the various barges and boats going up and down the mighty Tonle Sap river on dusk was truely something to cheerish.
The local night life is a highlight with those great little bars open to all hours. One night at a small bar we were visited by a local Elephant and his trainer....very colourful.
